Wreake Valley are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational  Head of Inclusion who is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for students and staff. We are looking for a leader with a strong knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), who approaches inclusion with integrity, compassion and a clear ethical commitment to ensuring that every student can thrive. The successful candidate will bring passion, energy and a strong commitment to supporting the school through the next stages of its development. They will work collaboratively as part of a highly effective SEND team and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to the strategic development of inclusion across Wreake and within the Bradgate Inclusion Centre The school provides 11-18 education with Bradgate Sixth Form and the Bradgate Inclusion Centre. The Bradgate Inclusion Centre (BInC) is an enhanced resource base for students in KS3 and KS4. It is designed for students with a communication and interaction need, a primary need on their EHCP. WVA is a true comprehensive school open and welcoming to all students. It has a broad and inclusive curriculum that has been created to instill a love of learning and pride in the accomplishments of the students. At WVA there is a belief in the power of education to create opportunities for students that will travel with them beyond their time at school. The role of Assistant Head of Inclusion will be a rewarding one, as there will be the opportunity to make immediate lasting impacts for the students. The Wreake staff are a committed to the education and needs of the students, there is an appetite to see just how good WVA could be under the leadership of a strong senior team willing to take brave decisions to help raise the achievements and aspirations of the students.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Have experience of working effectively with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

• Hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), or be willing to work towards achieving the qualification.

• Demonstrate a proven track record of leading school improvement initiatives and raising educational outcomes for pupils.

• Be able to inspire and support colleagues through the sharing of best practice and effective teaching and learning strategies.

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, staff and external agencies.

• Be a committed team player who aligns with and champions the mission, vision and values of Bradgate Education Partnership.
